The conditions for applying for creative support were alleviated

On 18 April, an amendment to the Creative Persons and Creative Unions’ Act entered into force, bringing in 8.5 million euros additional money for the payment of creative support and easing the conditions for applying for creative support until the end of 2021.
 
Major changes for 2021:
- With the amendment to the law, from 18 April 2021, those who received creative support last year will also be able to apply for support (normally, there must be a two-year break between two creative support).
- From 18 April 2021, a freelance creative person is also entitled to creative support if he or she has received income under a contract under the law of obligations or an incapacity benefit or a partial incapacity pension of up to € 584 (normally € 292) in the month before the creative support is paid.
- From 18 April 2021, in addition to the creative support, a creative person may earn up to € 584 (normally € 292) per month in one month's income under a contract under the law of obligations or an incapacity benefit or a partial incapacity pension.

Another important change is that persons who are not members of creative unions can start submitting applications for creative support in the information processing information system https://toetused.kul.ee/et/login, where you can log in using an ID card, Mobile ID or Smart-ID. The Ministry of Culture will in future process the applications of persons who are not members of creative unions.
